Hello Guys!
It’s [The Elder's Friend's Mom]. Just finished watching Oprah’s segment from today on child predators. I know there are some people who do not like her for their own reasons, but I pray you take this time to look at the attachment I am sending!! There is a bill in the Senate that HAS TO BE PASSED to protect our children from child predators BY SEPTEMBER 26th!
It is called the Protect our children act, which will give money to help provide more law enforcement to catch these predators from harming our children, our future. I am asking you to take action today to help get this law passed, by going to the link and doing as it instructs to contact your
senators about passing this law.
PLEASE DON’T FAIL OUR CHILDREN BY THINKING YOUR VOICE ISN’T HEARD!

Wanting to know more rather than just sending off a letter “because Oprah told me to”
I went digging on the Senate web site…
Looks like what you want to support is actually a combined bill – it combines this one mentioned here authored by Biden and a complimentary one authored by McCain. Interesting, that Oprah only mentioned half of it…
Looks like there are a few opinions on this out there.. this i s one by Dr Coburn who raised the combined bill rather than the omnibus where 1738 was originally grouped with unrelated causes where it stalled.

Thanks so much for taking the time to do that and then sharing it here (what a good friend!). Yes everyone needs to know the whole story. I guess I’m not surprised about that since everything these days are so political. Especially in an electional year! I will check it out.
