Looking for way to calm The Younger down in the evenings before bedtime. He so needs a nap but sleeps better at night when he doesn’t. I either need to find a way for him to nap AND go to bed ontime (and wake up at a decent hour), OR find a way for him to not be so cranky by dinnertime for the days he is at preschool and doesn’t get a nap.

My friend, Tammy, suggested Epsom Salts and just wanted to see if anyone else either has tried this method, if it works, how I do it, or if there is an alternative.

Thanks! And Thanks Trish for this great meme.

I would not have him ingest it but would put some in his bath at night. It’s a lovely way to help pull out toxins in a very gentle way. I would also get some high quality chamomile and put that in his bath and in a diffuser to help him sleep. There are a few homeopathy things you can do as well.

We give Epsom salt baths all the time. They are supposed to sit in them for 20 minutes, and they help with the sulfuration process as well as detoxification. There are also magnesium sulfate creams. However, for bedtime, our absolute must have is melatonin!

    Thanks for joining in!

I understand that Lavender has a calming scent according the Aromatherapy personage.

The Lavender and the epsom salts work well. We have a hanky with lavender stashed inside the pillow slip ( this also works well if you know you are going somewhere during the day that may be unsettling or stressful).
