Elderese/Youngerese of the Day
This morning The Younger was making it crystal clear how tired he was of waiting for me to finishing putting on my makeup.
Me: I’m almost done…There! Do I look beautiful?
The Younger: I think so.

The Hub got home from work and we had all congregated on the master room bed. The Hub inquires about The Elder’s day (He has a had a few …shall we say…challlenging last couple of school days…sigh).
The Elder: Do you know what color card I got today?
The Hub: Um, I don’t know. What color?
The Elder: It starts with a B and it’s a primary color…
(Blue cards mean great! Yay!!)
literally 2 seconds later…he blurts and darts with the poise of a cat:
The Elder: I gotta watch TV!
The Hub: again?
The Elder: It only comes on in the afternoon. (so cute to hear that word come out of his mouth!)
The next thing, I hear is the TV blaring in the playroom a collection of monotone voices, beeps, and golf-like clapping. So I went to investigate…
Me: Is THIS what you wanted to watch so bad?
The Elder: Yes! It’s called the Scholar’s Bowl.
Ay ay ay ay!
The Hub: Maybe one day, YOU’ll win the Scholar’s Bowl.
The Elder: You don’t win, you get the most points.
I’m trying to decide if that was a take on the “There are no losers in this house. You win when you finish.” lesson I taught them? I’m also trying to decide if it is a positive spin or not? Hmmm…
