Find Out Where Jen Got the Theme Elements

All of this was a lot easier than it sounds. The hardest part was editing the code to have the proper margins and padding. I strongly suggest the FireFox plugin FireBug (which The Hub and I have inadvertently renamed “BugZilla” and it has stuck), which makes it a LOT easier and faster than normal trial and error editing.

  • Original PHP code - modified from my last free theme called TravelGrunge. Recognize this?
  • Background - The Hub’s actual journal opened to a blank page. Picture taken on the carpet in my office and desaturated slightly to make up for the bad lighting at midnight.
  • Bookmark - The is actually 2 free images taken from various sites. One of a bookmark and I only used the tassel. The second one was an irregular shaped, half-finished puzzle cropped in the shape of a bookmark.
  • Horizontal Lines and arrows - hand-drawn in Photoshop
  • Crumpled Paper Images and Masking Tape - free images taken from various web-building sites and texturized in Photoshop using the Blending Options and Filters. Sorry I can’t remember all of the settings I used.
  • Horizontal Lines and arrows - hand-drawn in Photoshop
  • Flash slideshow in the Bible image - sproutbuilder.com/
  • Tag Cloud - free image found from Google search, embossed in Photoshop.
  • Horizontal Lines and arrows - hand-drawn in Photoshop
  • Title images, “Find Out” bullets and “Email Notifications” - Created in Photoshop using Augie and Ashton fonts, respectively. Widget titles default to style=”font-family:cursive;” but you can install the Augie font to see it with a consistent theme.
  • Chat Widget - digsby.com - highly recommend this application (not just the widget). It is the only one that I have found that effectively compiles all of my social memberships, chats, and all of my million email addresses into one place.
  • Mobile Phone Widget - textu.org
  • Other Widgets - Standard Wordpress widgets and widgets from plugins listed below.

Find Out What Plugins Jen Uses

At the request of The Bro, here is the page of Plugins I use with links.

Find Out More About Aspergers Syndrome

Asperger Syndrome is one of 5 of the Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) also known as the Pervasive Development Disorders (PDD) characterized by difficulties in social interaction and by restricted and stereotyped interests and activities. With AS, there is no general delay in language or cognitive development. There is no single treatment and no known cure, however, many learn to function at a typical level through various therapies and social skills training especially with early diagnosis and early intervention.
