I’m good at “random”
Once you’ve been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 16 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it’s because I want to know more about you.
About me…
- I am a first generation filipina-american, but I have a southern accent.
- I was born in Pittsburgh, but I have a southern accent.
- I grew up in SC, went to school in SC, went to grad school in TN, and live in TN, so I will never get rid of the southern accent.
- We only have 2 TVs in the house, one upstairs and one in the basement. And both are from the 1980s and rotate between PBS, Nick Jr, and Playhouse Disney. On special occasions we watch football. Now that the kids like it we can watch it more often. There’s still Pro left…
- Five is my lucky number for as long as I can remember.
- My new motto is “Failure is not an option.”
- I used to collect cows.
- I like to write and have a book in the making.
- I like to read too but i’m not as successful at it. I have only read a few books from cover to cover. To Kill a Mockingbird was the first one. I read it twice because I was so proud of myself – and there wasn’t even any pictures! Some fiction novels. The most recent one was Look Me in The Eye. Ironically enough, that has been the only ASD/ADHD/SPD book that I have read in its entirety. I have started a bunch though…
- My nickname was popcorn to my bowling league friends in high school. My average score back then was 145 and my highest was 200 something. I think 217. My brother might remember. My current average? Depends on if I’m at a lane or at a Wii. In “real” bowling, it’s about 100 with a standard deviation of 20 points.
- I’m a big analytical nerd, from math/statistics to psychology.
- Other than Cheerleading (and bowling), I didn’t do any sports activities in High School. I guess I was too big of a nerd. Post High School, I played lots of tennis, soccer, and races. According to The Hub I was pretty good at it, and have a mean spiral on my long passes. Don’t ask me when was the last time I touched a racket, soccer ball, football, or running shoes. I’m not even sure where they are…
- I DO know where my pompons are…Goooooooooooooooooooooooooo Jen P!
- Speaking of nerd…I had a 4.0 GPA in grad school…I retained about 4.0% of it. Just kidding. Maybe 4.5.
- Guitar Hero stresses me out.
- Choosing people to tag for memes stresses me out too.
Play if you want! If you don’t have a blog, just leave a 16-bulleted comment!
SCATTERGORIES Meme
IT’S HARDER THAN IT LOOKS! Here are the rules:
- Use the 1st letter of your name to answer each of the following questions.
- They have to be real places, names, things. nothing made up!
- You can’t use your name for the boy/girl name question.
- Tag 5 people to play along
- What is your name? Jen
- A 4 Letter Word: Jail
- A Boys Name: James
- A Girls Name: Jolie
- An Occupation: Janitor
- A Color: Jade
- Something you wear: Jeans
- A Beverage: Juice
- A Food: Jelly
- Something found in the bathroom: Junk
- A place: Juneau
- A Reason for being late: Just woke up
- Something you shout: Jiminy Cricket!
This was actually easier with a “J” than I thought. I’m going to tag “non-J” folks so that you can’t cheat off mine. JK. Here are my buddies that I’m tagging…
And anyone else who wants to play. Don’t feel like you have to post this on your blog. It might easier to just cut and paste the questions and leave them as a comment. Also tag others only if you want to.
Ten points to whoever sees the secret pattern in my post!
Try This Tuesday: Epsom Salt

Looking for way to calm The Younger down in the evenings before bedtime. He so needs a nap but sleeps better at night when he doesn’t. I either need to find a way for him to nap AND go to bed ontime (and wake up at a decent hour), OR find a way for him to not be so cranky by dinnertime for the days he is at preschool and doesn’t get a nap.
My friend, Tammy, suggested Epsom Salts and just wanted to see if anyone else either has tried this method, if it works, how I do it, or if there is an alternative.
Thanks! And Thanks Trish for this great meme.
